Kings Of Leon are the latest act to be confirmed for British Summer Time 2017.

“It’s always a pleasure to party with our amazing fans at Hyde Park,” drummer Nathan Followill has said after the band were signed up for July 6th next year with initial support from Pixies and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.

Jake Bugg has chosen Put Out The Fire to lead his double A-side single which is due for release on December 23rd.

The track has been paired up with The Love We’re Hoping For, and now has an official video. Both tracks are from this year’s third studio album On My One, on which the songwriter was at pains to emphasise his increased solo spirit.

One of the UK’s first and biggest metropolitan festivals is putting its plans in place for next year.

Brighton’s Great Escape event has unveiled 50 initial acts for 2017, including Live4ever favourites Shame and Cabbage, Sløtface and Rag’n’Bone Man.

The xx have added two more shows at the Brixton Academy to bring the grand total to a record breaking seven.

It’ll be the most nights during one run played by a band at the venue, and equates to around 35,000 fans.

‘Big and bold’ and leading off both the album and its announcement is Circa Waves‘ new single Wake Up.

It’s frontman Kieran Shudall who’s given the description of the track which received its premiere on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show last week and is now streaming ahead of the release of second album Different Creatures on March 10th next year.

T In The Park will not be a part of the British festival season in 2017.

Since moving to Strathallan Castle in 2015, the festival has been beset by numerous issues – primarily logistical and then in some cases of a much more serious nature this year.

Morrissey has now postponed the remainder of his US tour after keyboard player Gustavo Manzur fell ill earlier this month.

The gig in Colorado which was cancelled not long before stage-time was followed soon after by Texas gigs in Dallas, San Antonio and Houston, but the tour had been earmarked to resume in Detroit, MI last night. That didn’t happen though, and visits to Cleveland and Chicago wont’ be taking place as originally planned either.

The 2015 Head Full Of Dreams album will be followed up by Coldplay with a new EP next year.

The band shared news of the Kaleidoscope EP on Twitter and therefore should have some brand new material to air when they embark on European and North American tours during the second half of 2017.

The Inspiral Carpets have confirmed the death of their drummer Craig Gill.

A statement released across social media from the band reads:

“It’s with heavy hearts that we announced the death of our drummer and close friend Craig Gill. We are all absolutely devasted by the news. Craig was our brother.”

Now, it’s The Kooks who are ready to celebrate their own ten-year milestone on a ‘best of’ tour of the UK in 2017. Having already indulged in some nostalgia at the start of this year through the re-issue of their debut album Inside In/Inside Out, the group have unveiled dates starting in Manchester on April 21st, 2017.
