Liam Gallagher and John Squire air their debut album on hometurf.

Liam Gallagher and John Squire‘s first UK tour together in support of their recently released debut album hit the familiar surroundings of the Manchester Apollo last night (March 20th).

The tour will continue on to Leeds and London during the next few days, backing a record which sees, ‘two veterans rekindling their mojo and bouncing off each other’s very different talents’, according to Live4ever’s review:

“One of the reasons The Stone Roses were able to stand apart from the scene they co-created was in their melding of blues, funk and sixties’ psychedelia, expressed by Squire’s fluent and schooled technique.”

Here, his love of both Jimmy Page (I’m A Wheel) and Jimi Hendrix (Love You Forever, which owes much to Purple Haze) is front and centre, both freewheeling tracks which groove way more than anything his singer has ever been a party to before.
