Jake Bugg has chosen Put Out The Fire to lead his double A-side single which is due for release on December 23rd.

The track has been paired up with The Love We’re Hoping For, and now has an official video. Both tracks are from this year’s third studio album On My One, on which the songwriter was at pains to emphasise his increased solo spirit after the shared work on his 2012 self-titled debut the 2013 follow-up Shangri La.

“In a lot of ways it sums up this record because it mainly has been me on my own,” he said. “I saw this as the logical next step in my development as a songwriter. It was a challenge but something I felt I had to do.”

“To me the blues just means singing your emotions and expressing your pain so others can feel it. That’s the beauty of music. If nothing else, I’d like to think I’ve done that with this record.”
