Adele comfortably had the biggest selling album of 2012 in the US, new Billboard figures show.
It might have become one of the biggest selling UK albums of all time during the 18 months or so which have passed since her breakthrough performance at the Brits, but it seems those who managed to reach the end of this year without getting their hands on Adele‘s ‘21‘ were not best pleased to find the album waiting for them under the tree on Christmas morning.

Coldplay were the big winners in the specialist rock categories at yesterday’s (May 20th) Billboard Awards, on a night when Adele cleared up the ceremony’s main prizes.
Adele and PJ Harvey took home two of the major honours at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards, which were held today (May 17th) at London’s Grosvenor House.
Adele remains on top of the UK Album Chart this week, with Jason Mraz the highest new entry one place back at #2.
