It would appear Jake Bugg has been unmoved by the Stone Roses‘ new music, while he had an equally big shrug of the shoulders for Noel Gallagher‘s thoughts on the use of co-writers.

Asked by Shortlist about the new Roses material, Bugg responded: “It’s just Stone Roses, innit? I’m not a fan”, and was then quizzed for the umpteenth time on Noel Gallagher commenting that he was left ‘heartbroken’ when he discovered Bugg had used outside help on his first two studio albums.

Fear not, Scottish fans of Frightened Rabbit.

The band’s just announced tour of the UK in the winter mightn’t take them home at any point, but they’re promising something extra special up there soon. “We are aware that this tour is lacking in Scottish dates, but we would NEVER neglect the motherland,” the band promise.

Noel Gallagher will call time on ‘Chasing Yesterday‘ with a gig at the Brixton Academy in London on September 6th.

Like everyone else Gallagher is heading into a summer of festivals, and then points the tour bus towards London as autumn breaks for what will be his first solo show at the Brixton Academy and the last of 121 gigs played behind his 2015 second High Flying Birds album.

An album of nine songs recorded by Viola Beach before the tragic accident which claimed the lives of all four bandmates and their manager earlier this year will be released on July 29th through Fuller Beans Records.

“We are tremendously proud of everything the boys achieved in such a short space of time. Craig, Jack, Kris, River and Tom shared a huge passion, talent and dedication to music,” their family members have said.

Book-ending the set with the classic opener and closer from their equally classic self-titled debut album, the band also included ‘All For One‘ from their far more recent London sessions with producer Paul Epworth.

‘New challenges beckon’ for The Vaccines‘ drummer Pete Robertson, who has announced his departure from the band.

“After much thought and deliberation I have decided the time is right to end my time as a Vaccine,” he says in a statement on Facebook.

Jimmy Page has told a Los Angeles court hearing the ‘Stairway To Heaven‘ plagiarism trial that he had never heard the track he is alleged to have stolen the iconic guitar riff from until a few years ago.

The guitarist is reported to have said: “Something like that would stick in my mind. It was totally alien to me”, whilst also acknowledging he does own three Spirit albums.

Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton have reunited Arab Strap and will play UK gigs later this year.

“I think the day we went to the pub and split up, we made a joke about Arab Strap getting back together in 10 years’ time to celebrate,” Middleton told Steve Lamacq on BBC 6Music. “So that’s basically what this is: a chance to enjoy the music we made once more.”

Paul McCartney has remembered Henry McCullough as ‘super talented’ after the guitarist died last week at the age of 72.

McCullough was with Sir Paul in Wings during a time in the seventies, touring with the band and recording notable hits such as ‘My Love‘ and the Bond theme ‘Live and Let Die‘.

Four years on from ‘Beacon‘, Two Door Cinema Club will put a disruptive spell to an end with their new album ‘Gameshow’.

Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Jacknife Lee, the album is set for release on October 14th. It comes after the band abruptly pulled out of the 2014 Latitude Festival and went quiet for a while as frontman Alex Trimble battled a stomach illness.
