Merely a matter of days after confirming a large of part of their line-up for June, Michael and Emily Eavis revealed this year’s Glastonbury Festival will no longer be taking place.

In a statement, they said that whilst they hoped the situation in the UK ‘will have improved enormously’ by the time Glastonbury was due to take place at the end of June, the current restrictions and advice on social isolating means that the annual preparations to turn Worthy Farm into the world famous festival would not be viable.

Sports Team will now be releasing their debut album in June.

Originally intended for April 3rd, the band have said they’ve ‘tried as hard as they can to keep everything on track’ during the build-up to Deep Down Happy, ‘but on a lot of sound advice’ have taken the decision to delay. “In a way it seems fitting that we’re trying to release our debut in the midst of a once in a generation global pandemic,” they say.

Demon Music Group has announced the vinyl re-release of Longpigs‘ debut album The Sun Is Often Out.

Originally released into the peak of Britpop in 1996 on U2’s Mother label, the album went on to deliver four Top 40 UK singles including one of the enduring classics of the era, She Said.

As much of the globe (abruptly in some cases, slowly in others) begins to move into self isolation, the members of White Denim have taken it upon themselves to use their time productively.

Last weekend, on social media the band detailed their intention to write, record and master a new album within 30 days, creating in the process what would be their fourth long player in two years following the release of Performance in 2018 and both Side Effects and In Person last year.

Paul Weller has shared Earth Beat, featuring guest vocals from Col3trane, ahead of the release of his latest solo album On Sunset on June 12th.

It’ll be Weller’s first release after signing with Polydor, and is to be supported with an October/November tour of the UK which is set to conclude with London shows at the Brixton Academy and O2 Kentish Town Forum.
