New Music Friday: Dry Cleaning – New Long Leg

Dry Cleaning New Long Leg

Dry Cleaning have released their debut album on this New Music Friday – have a listen right here on Live4ever via Spotify.

New Long Leg is out after Dry Cleaning first took notice during that fertile period of 2018 and 2019 – singles such as Goodnight and Sit Down Meal laying strong foundations for their Sweet Princess and Boundary Road Snacks And Drinks parent EPs which put the band right at the business end of the lengthy list of impressive artists making their start at the time.

“Scratchcard Lanyard also opens it, described by Shaw as a ‘revenge fantasy’ in which she – abstractly – rails at societal expectations of women over 30, deadpanning, ‘I’ve come to learn how to mingle/I’ve come to learn how to dance/I’ve come to join the knitting circle’,” our review reads.

“Those riffs we were speaking of turn up in full effect on Unsmart Lady, a blues-metal crawl that, even though Shaw’s voice rarely pops up over the feedback, still manages to land its killer blows on the topic of body dysmorphia.”
