Wolf Alice were presented with the 2018 Mercury Prize last week for their second studio album Visions Of A Life.

The band were triumphant with their second nomination in as many albums after 2015 debut My Love Is Cool also made the award’s shortlist, and won the £25,000 ahead of favourite Nadine Shah and established names such as Noel Gallagher, Florence & The Machine and Arctic Monkeys.

Noel Gallagher‘s touring behind his third High Flying Birds album Who Built The Moon? will be documented in a picture book entitled Any Road Will Get Us There (If We Don’t Know Where We’re Going).

“Through the lens of former official Man City photographer, Sharon Latham, who was granted unprecedented access, this is Noel Gallagher as you’ve never seen him before,” the description reads.

Bloc Party have announced plans to document their impeding Silent Alarm tour with a live album release next year.

The band are preparing to perform their 2005 debut album in full on a run of European shows during October, which they will warm-up for with a gig at the Brudenell in Leeds on October 13th.

Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansel were back in April with God Complex, their first Blood Red Shoes material for quite some time. They’ve now confirmed a brand new album whilst going into more detail about the turmoil behind that break.

The final knockings of 2014’s self-titled album brought about a prolonged time apart for the two bandmates, when Carter enjoyed ‘time to reassess’ and Ansel ‘went out and took drugs and went clubbing for about half a year’.

The ‘desire to shake it up’ doesn’t appear to have lasted for much more than one album if the new single from Mumford & Sons is anything to go by.

Guiding Light is the first preview of the band’s next album Delta, which has been set for release on November 16th and produced by Paul Epworth.

Embrace will tour their debut album The Good Will Out around the UK next year on its 21st anniversary.

Gigs in cities such as Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield and Nottingham have been arranged, with the final night due at the Leeds Academy on March 16th 2019. “I don’t think any of us could have guessed 21 years ago when we released The Good Will Out what an incredible rollercoaster it was going to be,” frontman Danny McNamara reflects.

‘A milestone’ is how White Lies describe their new album Five.

Set for release on February 1st next year, it was partly recorded in Los Angeles and has a lengthy European tour booked for the same time.

Steve Mason will release his new solo album About The Light on January 18th next year.

His successor to 2016’s Meet The Humans is a much more collaborative affair, Mason explaining that he ‘wanted to get his live band involved at every stage’ in order to capture the energy of his live shows on record. “So this time the band and myself worked on a collection of songs over the course of last year,” he concludes.
