The Libertines have moved to reassure fans over the health of Pete Doherty after the band cancelled a gig in London on September 10th.

A show set for the Manchester Ritz the following night was also postponed, and rumours surrounding Doherty’s well-being have been vociferously spread online since the London gig was eventually pulled two hours after stage-time.

Muse‘s live plans behind their 2015 album ‘Drones‘ will move further into next year with European dates throughout April, May and June.

The money-spinning success of U2 has been evoked by promising a new stage design which is to place the band right in the middle of the venues, offering fans a ‘true 360 degree audio/visual sensory experience’.

The Cribs plan to release ‘Summer Of Chances’ as the latest single taken from their 2015 album ‘For All My Sisters‘ on October 30th.

The track will be packaged up with the brand new b-side ‘Wish I Knew You In The 90s’, available as a limited 7” on Sonic Blew/Sony Red.

The new Bloc Party line-up will be a part of the BBC 6 Music Live series at Maida Vale in October, joining New Order and The Staves.

“I’m really excited about the brilliant line-up for this year’s 6 Music Live, as well as the prospect of reliving so many of my favourite sessions and performances from across the past year,” host Lauren Laverne has remarked.

Super Furry Animals will register their opposition to UK government austerity measures by headlining a gig at the Manchester Academy on October 5th which is to coincide with the Conservative Party’s annual conference.

It’s been arranged with The People’s Assembly Against Austerity, and will also see Charlotte Church performing. “What has happened in established politics is nothing short of criminal, testing our faith in humanity,” the band declare in a statement.

The latest chapter of Suede‘s reunion will be written on January 22nd next year with the release of the band’s seventh LP ‘Night Thoughts‘.

It follows 2013’s ‘Bloodsports‘, which itself had followed a 2010 live comeback for Suede. A film put together by NME photographer Roger Sargent has also been announced, and will be shown for the first time at the London Roundhouse on November 13th and 14th.

Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis already has headliners signed up for the next two years.

That’s according to BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat reporter Sinéad Garvan, who spoke to Eavis at last week’s (September 8th) AIM Independent Music Awards, when he apparently revealed four acts booked for 2016 and 2017 have previously headlined, with the other two set for bill-topping debuts.

Johnny Marr‘s been fiddling with his diary again and has added another new date to next month’s UK tour.

The original itinerary has had gigs in Manchester, Belfast, Dublin, London and Bristol added to it since the first announcement in July, and now a new night at the Kilmarnock Grand Hall on October 15th has been confirmed, with support coming from Man Made.

Enter Shikari went home with the Independent Album Of The Year prize from last week’s (September 8th) AIM Independent Music Awards.

The band’s ‘The Mindsweep’ LP beat off competition from the likes of Wolf Alice, The Charlatans and Young Fathers to land one of the evening’s main accolades.

The Who will start the next leg of their Who Hits 50! tour over a week late due to an unspecified illness being suffered by frontman Roger Daltrey.

Daltrey and Pete Townshend had been due start another round of North American dates in San Diego on September 14th, but the launch has now been put back to September 24th and a gig in Portland, Oregon as Daltrey battles what is only being described as a ‘virus’.
