When it comes to unadulterated pure rock ‘n’ roll, you need to have the swagger of course, but the tunes also shouldn’t go a miss. Midlands own Century Man tick all the boxes for a classic and forward thinking rock band.

Loyal Doves fans worry not – the beloved Manchester band is not breaking up but rather taking a 2 year break from touring and recording, it was revealed yesterday. “We just to get off that whole album-tour-album-tour treadmill,” singer Jimi Goodwin said.

Championed by Eric Clapton and praised by B.B. King, Joe Bonamassa is currently being hailed as the hottest blues rock guitarist on the planet, and what’s more, he’s coming to the UK to perform four special concerts in May.

Flowers‘ news of his first solo album, Flamingo, released later this year, was announced via a Killers fan site Tweet. Fans were directed to two official websites, thekillersmusic.com and the brand new brandonflowersmusic.com, where the homepages revealed the new solo project’s title.  Readers can sign up for email updates on the new ‘Flamingo’ LP there. The Killers sort of let the cat out of the bag a few days ago when they alluded to the news via their own Twitter post. The group confirmed the news but have not given out any other details such as a release date yet.

The Jim Jones Revue has been confirmed to perform at the prestigious MOJO Honours Listceremony, taking place in London on Tuesday, May 4th. The most respected of all music magazine awards ceremonies, the much anticipated 2010 nominations for the annual MOJO Awards will be announced that evening. Raising the roof and breaking their one-London-show-per-year tradition, space rock legends Hawkwind have also been confirmed to perform. The five, public voted, best-of-the-year categories are Best Album, Best Live Act, Breakthrough Act, Best Compilation and Song Of the Year.

Myspace Music in conjunction with The Dead Weather are providing music fans with the next level of exclusive album access. Beginning on Monday, May 3rd, the premiere music site will be live-streaming The Dead Weather performing their latest release, Sea of Cowards, in its entirety. The band will perform the album front-to-back in the live room at the Third Man Records building in downtown Nashville, the same space in which they played their very first show in March 2009. This exclusive live performance will begin streaming at  3 p.m. PST/6 p.m. EST on MySpace Music (http://www.myspacemusic.com) as well as the band’s MySpace page, http://www.myspace.com/thedeadweather.
