Slaney Bay have set their new EP Why Does Love Mean Loss? for release on September 29th whilst handing a video premiere to its lead single EST.
“EST tells the tale of a love interest moving away,” Cait Whitley explained. “The whole song is imagined to take place inside an airport.
“You’re trying to psych yourself up to convince them to stay…but their boarding time is suffocatingly close. Is this your final chance to confess your feelings before they move to the Eastern Time Zone?”
Teenage Fanclub have unveiled their latest Nothing Lasts Forever single Tired Of Being Alone with a video filmed by Donald Milne at Vibberodden Lighthouse near Egersund, Norway.
“Towards the end of our session in Rockfield Studios making the album I woke up in the middle of the night,” Raymond McGinley said.
“There was a guitar next to the bed. I picked it up and this song came out. The words for the chorus were there already. I recorded a rough version on my phone and then went back to sleep. We recorded the song later that day. As a band we like to trust our instincts and let things happen.”
The Wytches have unveiled their new album Our Guest Can’t Be Named.
Due out on September 22nd, it’s being trailed with the lead track Maria – an old tune which was, ‘the first track we put down for the album’, according to frontman Kristian Bell:
“We used to play this song live quite a lot and originally recorded it in a church in Liverpool with Bill Ryder Jones. It wasn’t really ready back then but we never became fed up with the song and its simplicity.”
Echo Ladies have released their new single Fabrik.
It’s the latest from the band’s forthcoming second album Lillies, which is due on September 8th. “This is a song about the fear of getting stuck in life, doing repetitive things, pleasing others and putting yourself second all the time,” they’ve said.
“The song’s name, Fabrik, actually means Factory in swedish. We wanted the sound of the synths and the drums to be reminiscent of some sort of big factory, a repetitive loop of big sounds that shaped a rhythm.”
GAIKA has shared his new single PIÑATA.
Packed with guitars, organs, brass heavy percussion and North African influence, its taken from the new album Drift which will be released on September 8th.
PIÑATA was co-produced by regular collaborator Kidä.
