Girl And Girl have marked the release of their eight-track digital EP ‘Divorce+’ with a video for its wondrous new single Dance Now.
“Shooting this clip was probably one of the best days I’ve had in months,” Kai James said.
“I’ve felt lots of pressure with my art and creating lately, so I wanted to step away from that and create something totally unhinged and fun. For the shoot, Rose, our leading chook, just emanated pure joy, and that’s exactly what I wanted to capture, a chicken lady so in love with life, and her chicken form, whose deepest desire is just to feel the wind in her wings.”
Sprints are back with a new single entitled Adore Adore Adore.
With singles in the bag which were a part of Live4ever’s end-of-year retrospectives in both 2021 and 2022, this latest one is introduced by Karla Chubb thus:
“There is still a different standard of behaviour expected from me vs even the other members. There is a different set of invisible rules I am supposed to abide by – I am supposed to fit their mould and give them what they want – and not deliver what it is I am here to do.”
Problem Patterns have shared their new single Letter Of Resignation.
It’s been dedicated to, ‘anyone who has left a job, space or situation because people there were judgmental of or discriminated against them or others for being different’, by guitarist Beverley Boal, who added:
“For me, I grew up hearing the phrase ‘hate the sin, love the sinner’ in churches (always in the same context, as if being gay was the ultimate sin) and it still feels like an attack when I hear the preachers in the street. Genuine love does not force us to become what we are not. Genuine love extends beyond those who look, act and think like yourself.”
Blackaby has posted the video for Teenage Purity – a track which, ‘follows in the theme of self extraction from the Christian church’:
“I became ‘born again’ at the age of 13 and the leaders seemed to have big expectations about my future, particularly linked to music. It was a slow process realising I was on the wrong road and attempting to get off it. I needed to find one that didn’t involve fear, guilt and pressure. The uplifting and important messages like love your neighbour seemed to be pushed to the side by youth leaders in preference of remaining pure until marriage.”
It’s part of a new EP which has also been announced today; Perfect Delusions due for release on August 30th via Sweat Entertainment.
JOHN have unveiled the details of their new album A Life Diagrammatic.
It follows the run of standalone singles which have been released during the past few months, while Service Stationed is the lead track here and features guest vocals from Leona Farrugia of Anglo-Maltese quartet ĠENN.
“We immediately liked the propulsion of the song in the rehearsal room, I liked to think it mirrored the driving motion of the band’s outlook,” John Newton said.
