Frank Carter and Jamie T have shared a new collaboration entitled The Drugs – written, ‘after a few long conversations with some beautiful friends of mine who had been struggling with addiction’, according to Carter.

“Life is a difficult journey, it’s easier with good friends around,” he explained. “Jamie and I had been talking about making music for years and when he asked me to sing on his tune British Hell I jumped at the chance. When I asked him to sing on The Drugs he returned the favour in perfect style.”

“Around 2007, when I met Jamie, was a wild time to be a young punk navigating the music industry. One of the things I learned very early was friends were hard to find, but when you found them you had to hold on tight. Jamie has been my friend since we bumped into each other backstage at a gig in Austin, Texas.”

JOHN have premiered their new single Theme New Bond Junior and prepped it for release in the January of next year.

“The arts function as a mirror of our wider culture, and it’s been interesting to see how the acceleration of the present affects most aspects of our lives – including the production of art and music,” John Newton said.

“The track was a gestation on the speed of consumption: this includes both the constant update/obsolescence of physical products and their resulting affect on the human attention span.”

Leftfield have shared their collaboration with Grian Chatten of Fontaines D.C. which will feature on This Is What We Do – their first collection of new music in seven years.

“Full Way Round was a perfect collaboration between beats and good vibes,” the duo said. “Hard work and fun.”

“Grian’s vocal is a free-flowing journey to be felt and experienced, rather than analysed. His energy and enthusiasm spits out from the speakers. Whenever I hear it, I’m reminded of the excitement in the studio when he recorded it.”

Orbital and Sleaford Mods have teamed up on Dirty Rat.

“The ongoing culture of non-thought mostly exists because of a lack of education into critical thought,” Jason Williamson commented. “How do you mobilise a people firmly imprisoned by a concrete system?”

“This track is a giant capital letter,” Paul Hartnoll added. “Like in the Book of Kells, where the very first letter always gets the big treatment from the monk when he’s doing his illustrated borders.”

Stone will release their debut EP Punkadonk next month.

“Money is a very special song for the band, as it’s the first track where the lyrics were co-written between Fin and Elliot,” they comment.

“The song shares both of their emotions and perspectives on the world today and the anxieties we face. The song is a statement of emotion about the state of this planet and how it feels growing up into adulthood in the current climate.”
