The Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr live in New York (Paul Bachmann for Live4ever Media)
World tour dates for The Strokes and Oasis in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame brought some of Live4ever’s trending music news last week – revisit the stories right here.
The Strokes have announced world tour dates in support of their new album Reality Awaits which is due for release on June 26th.
After a widely acclaimed appearance at Coachella last weekend, the band have confirmed the start of lengthy touring at another US festival, Bonnaroo, on June 12th, and will from there remain on the road around North America off and on through to the end of September.
UK gigs then open at the O2 Arena in London on October 6th, with the 3Arena in Dublin set to host The Strokes’ final night on the 28th of that month.
Massive Attack have released their new single Boots On The Ground featuring Tom Waits, while Waits will provide a spoken word B-side exclusive to vinyl entitled The Fly.
“It’s a career honour to collaborate with an artist of the magnitude, originality and integrity of Tom, but this track is arriving in an atmosphere of chaos,” Massive Attack said.
“Across the western hemisphere, state authoritarianism and the militarisation of police forces are fusing again with neo-fascist politics. Seen within the American emergency, at home and overseas, this track contains pulses of callous impulse & abandoned mind.”
Kodaline have shared the track We Were Only Young from their new album which will be the band’s last when it is released later this year.
“We Were Only Young is a bittersweet song about looking back on better times, knowing you can’t ever go back,” Steve Garrigan said.
“Like most songs I write, it comes from something real, that feeling of being part of something special, and only fully understanding it with time. In some ways, it reflects the journey we’ve been on together.”

Oasis by Simon Emmett
Oasis are leading no fewer than six British acts who’ll be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame this year.
Among the others in the class of 2026 are Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order and Wu-Tang Clan. Responding on social media, Liam Gallagher wrote:
“I wanna thank all the people who voted for us it’s a real honour ever since I was a little kid and singing in the shower I’d dream about 1 day being in the RnR hall of fame it’s true what they say anything is possible if you have a dream.”
Noah Kahan will take his upcoming album The Great Divide around the world later this year following its release on April 24th.
With a North American tour already booked for the summer, new shows have been confirmed to start with two nights in Melbourne on September 25th and 26th.
UK and Ireland appearances are coming up during November in Glasgow, Manchester, London and Dublin, while a gig in Paris at the Accor Arena on December 7th will close the tour.
Isaac Holman has returned to his, ‘deeply therapeutic’, Baby Dave project and will release the new album ‘billy’ on May 1st.
This latest record follows the restart of Soft Play in 2024, and is being previewed with the single ‘am i clean???’.
“I have pretty severe ocd,” Holman has said. “It makes me do things I don’t want to do and think about things I don’t want to think about.”
