It’s been quite the eventful year for Nick Valensi.
Starting with a plea for his missing favourite guitar – The Strokes writing online :“In a bit of unfortunate news, we’ve recently learned that Nick’s beloved Epiphone guitar has gone missing while being shipped from NYC to LA” – and then releasing a first batch of new material with that band since 2013 in the spring, he’s now completed the full set of Strokes members to form a brand new band.
CRX sees Valensi joining forces with The Dose drummer Ralph Alexander, Guards guitarist Richie James Follin, Los Angeles-based musician Darian Zahedi and The Reflections‘ Jon Safley, though as yet no music has emerged from the announcement.
As revealed by his wife Amanda de Cadanet on Instagram, Valensi was eventually reunited with his guitar, albeit not in the condition he left it in; ‘water damaged, covered in rust and with no strings’.
