Indie band Wild Beasts have been giving their predictions for this year’s Mercury Music Prize, and have named Leeds-based singer Corinne Bailey Rae as their tip for the annual prize.
Arcade Fire have scored their first UK number one album this week, with their excellent third studio album ‘The Suburbs‘ landing at #1. Elsewhere, Mercury nominees Mumford & Sons and The xx are both non-movers this week at #9 and #13 respectively.
The nominations for this year’s Mercury Music Prize were revealed at a press conference in London earlier today.
