The K’s with Live4ever @ SXSW 2025
The K’s chat with Live4ever is live now on YouTube.
It can be a head-spinning world young bands occupy today.
One minute you’re rubbing shoulders with rock stars side-stage at some European festival, the next you’re back in the mundane 9-5 reality their music is inspiring you to escape.
“We were watching Iggy Pop with Liam Gallagher, and we’re just like, what’s going on here? We figured we were kings for the weekend and then we’d all be sat back at a desk on the Monday morning,” The K’s told Live4ever at SXSW.
“First time we’d played abroad properly as well so it was like a holiday. We were like, leading double lives almost, where that weekend you’d literally just been sharing the stage with absolute legends, and then going back to just work on the Monday.”
So that’s what kills a lot of bands as well, that we’ve worked really hard for. It’s hard to try and keep, keep both going until you make enough money. we’ve grafted our arse off just working two jobs, essentially, for what do you reckon, like six years?
With their new album Pretty On The Internet set to document what all this hard work has been for when it’s released on Friday, The K’s are now ready for what the dizzying world of rock and roll has for them next.
