New tour dates for Yeah Yeah Yeahs and a SXSW-themed release from Speedy Wunderground were among last week’s biggest headlines.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced three more live shows in the US.
They’ll take place at the MGM Music Hall in Boston on November 6th, The Met in Philadelphia on the 8th and finally at Toronto’s History venue on November 11th.
The band remain on the road after the release of their Cool It Down album last year.
Romy has announced her Club Mid Air tour which will go around Europe, the UK and North America later this year.
With a ‘personally curated selection of DJs’ set to be a part of the tour, the shows are being billed as ‘unique and inclusive events’ and will start at Le Cabaret Sauvage in Paris on November 9th.
It’ll be in the UK later that month for a gig at London’s Electric Brixton venue, while the North American leg is booked for December and is due to close out at Webster Hall in New York.
The Coral have detailed a short December tour of the UK after the release of their new album Sea Of Mirrors.
The band will play Glasgow Barrowlands, the Liverpool Olympia and London’s Electric Ballroom during the run, ending in Manchester at New Century on December 9th.
Sea Of Mirrors and its companion piece Holy Joe’s Coral Island Medicine Show were praised by Live4ever as, ‘equally both fascinating and fantastic, imperfectly woven but always compelling’.

Speedy Wunderground will release their SXSW EP on November 17th.
Featuring Enumclaw, Revival Season and alexalone, it was recorded by the label’s Dan Carey during this year’s festival at Austin’s 512 Studios.
“It was so good to be able to spread our wings and take Speedy transatlantic, and obviously as soon as we found out we were going to Austin we immediately started looking at studios,” Pierre Hall said.
CHVRCHES have shared the second of four previously unheard tracks which are due to feature on the anniversary edition of The Bones Of What You Believe when it’s released on October 20th.
“Some of the main sources of inspiration for our first album, including Talking In My Sleep were artists that we all share a love for, and a lot of stuff from the 80s,” Iain Cook said.
“Kate Bush (particularly the Hounds of Love album), Depeche Mode, Prince, Michael Jackson, and also a bunch of the blog-led indie pop music that was around in 2010. Martin particularly was really invested in that stuff and was bringing a lot of fresh sounds and ideas mixed with the classic 80’s pop influences that we all loved.”
The Rolling Stones have confirmed the full tracklist for their new album Hackney Diamonds, which is due for release on October 20th.
It’s packed full of musical stars; with Sweet Sounds Of Heaven featuring keys from Stevie Wonder and vocals from Lady Gaga, while Bite My Head Off has bass from Paul McCartney, and Get Close and Live By The Sword both feature piano from Elton John.
In addition, the band’s sadly departed drummer Charlie Watts has contributions on Mess It Up and Live By The Sword, the latter of which also features Bill Wyman on bass.
