Laura Marling announced her new album Song For Our Daughter and released it last Friday, April 10th.
“My new album Song For Our Daughter is coming out this week, ahead of our planned schedule,” she’s said by way of introduction. “In light of the change to all our circumstances, I saw no reason to hold back on something that, at the very least, might entertain, and at its best, provide some sense of union.”

The Manic Street Preachers will play two shows in Cardiff at the end of this year in support of the NHS.
The first night at the city’s Motorpoint Arena on December 4th will be a free one for NHS workers, while all profits for the following night will go to NHS Wales charities.

It was one of the last major UK summer events still standing, but to no great surprise the cancellation of BST at London’s Hyde Park has been confirmed.
The concert series had been set to host some major artists including Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift and Pearl Jam during the course of July, but the inevitable ‘difficult decision’ has now been made.

Phoebe Bridgers has confirmed her second solo album Punisher is to be released on June 19th.
Coming with the announcement is latest single Kyoto, which follows on from the lead Garden Song and is described by Bridgers as being about ‘impostor syndrome’. “About being in Japan for the first time, somewhere I’ve always wanted to go, and playing my music to people who want to hear it, feeling like I’m living someone else’s life,” she continued.

Liam Gallagher has joined the Manic Street Preachers in announcing a free UK show for the NHS later this year.
He’ll play the O2 Arena in London on October 29th for NHS and care workers. Like most, Gallagher has found his big summer touring plans curtailed by current events, festival and outdoor shows which had been due to support his second solo album Why Me? Why Not.

Charli XCX is planning to release an album from isolation on May 15th.
The popstar has been documenting her own experiences with the current distancing guidelines on social media, and it’s from there where she detailed her plan to record the album which is provisionally titled How I’m Feeling Now.
