New Music Friday: The Kills – Little Bastards

The Kills Little Bastards square

On New Music Friday, check out the new compilation from The Kills right here on Live4ever.

B-sides and assorted rarities dating from 2002-2009 are the focus of The Kills’ Little Bastards collection which has been released today.

It was introduced with the previously unheard demo Raise Me, while another unreleased cut – their cover of I Put A Spell On You – followed later in October. On here you’ll also find archives such as the 2005 recording of Love Is A Deserter for XFM, and the Midnight Boom digital edition bonus track Night Train.

The compilation’s name derived from the nickname Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince gave to the drum machine which they used during their early days.

“It was a Roland 880,” Hince recalled. “Which isn’t strictly a drum machine – it’s a sequencer, and an eight-track recorder, with its own drum machine built in, and that’s what we’d record all our beats on.”
