The trio of highlights for the latest installment of Live4ever’s New Tunes Guide this week come courtesy of Joe Perkins, Feral Brood and Du Bellows.
Joe Perkins’ obvious classic rock influences are nicely brought to the fore by Ray Staff – a man well schooled in that rock tradition – who worked on an album in AIR Studios which you can now pick up for free. Feral Brood also display an impressive contemporary sound on their ‘Into The Woods’ EP and have already shared a stage with the likes of Razorlight since forming early last year, while Du Bellows are becoming regulars on the London circuit and can count Simon Townshend amongst others as a fan.

“Esther Maria‘s debut album was released on the 2nd of November 2012 in Scandinavia, on Esther Maria’s private label The Quest Records, and was crowd-funded with help from fans by use of Indiegogo.com. The album got four stars out of six in the largest Danish Music magazine Gaffa. Kramer is known for working with bands such as, Low, Will Oldham, Galaxie 500, Daniel Johnston and spotting new talent, he produced album in New York during 2010, after contacting Esther Maria personally.”

“Mike Higbee is an independent singer-songwriter based in New York City. The ‘Secret Life’ is a video on the darker side of things, a picnic set in the 1950s. A greaser type wants to kill his cheating girlfriend.”
“Feral Brood are a 5 piece indie rock band formed in early 2012, and have already started making a name for themselves – highlights so far include a main stage appearance at Crooked Ways festival with the likes of Razorlight and King Charles, a great slot at the Leadmill for the Tramlines festival, as well as headline O2 Academy shows. Since forming they have played many gigs in London including Ronnie Scotts, The Underbelly, The Half Moon, The Wheelbarrow, Notting Hill Arts Club and a show supporting Simon Townshend (The Who) and have also recently been played by Ruth Barnes on Amazing Radio and been added to their Never Ending Playlist.”
