Blood Red Shoes confirm new album Get Tragic

Blood Red Shoes

Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansel were back in April with God Complex, their first Blood Red Shoes material for quite some time. They’ve now confirmed a brand new album whilst going into more detail about the turmoil behind that break.

The final knockings of 2014’s self-titled album brought about a prolonged time apart for the two bandmates, when Carter enjoyed ‘time to reassess’ and Ansel ‘went out and took drugs and went clubbing for about half a year’. “That’s the whole running theme of this record,” Ansel goes on.

“The reason we called it Get Tragic is because we realised that everything we’ve been doing over the last three years is kinda tragic! Just like, ‘Ooh, I hate you, I’m going to America to find myself’, and like ‘Ooh, I’m gonna party for the rest of the year!’. Everything about it is such a cliché – we were like, ‘We’ve turned into a tragedy!’.”

Get Tragic has been given a release date of January 25th next year. God Complex isn’t on there, but Mexican Dress is, and is streaming online now.
