Beth Gibbons will play UK and European dates in the spring.

Portishead‘s Beth Gibbons has announced the details of her debut solo record Lives Outgrown.

The album will reflect on a period in Gibbons’ life when there were ‘lots of goodbyes’ – to family, friends and her former self.

I realised what life was like with no hope. And that was a sadness I’d never felt. Before, I had the ability to change my future, but when you’re up against your body, you can’t make it do something it doesn’t want to do.

It’s set for release on May 17th and is being previewed now with Floating On A Moment.
