Sault‘s live debut and MOBO nominations for Little Simz were among last week’s biggest headlines.

Sault‘s first live show at London’s Drumsheds venue sold-out within minutes of going on-sale last week.

The collective had been teasing their maiden touring plans on social media during the last few weeks, and look set to play their Nine album in full at the London gig – the 2021 record which was one of Live4ever’s top albums of that year.

“Nine is of a lesser scale and scope. Available for 99 days from release – it’s not clear what this means – the focus isn’t this time global but instead fixed squarely on London, an inside-out view straight from the capital’s ends,” our review reads.

Alvvays will begin a spring/summer European tour next year with five UK shows.

They’ll take place in Wicklow, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and London, with the mainland European trip starting on June 28th in Antwerp.

Concerts continue throughout July and include a stop at Mad Cool Festival on the 12th of that month, and the final outing is booked at Øyafestivalen in Oslo on August 8th.

Bring Me The Horizon, Dua Lipa, Pearl Jam and Sum-41 are some of the names leading the first line-up announcement for Mad Cool Festival 2024.

Some others confirmed on the bill include Janelle Monae, Avril Lavigne, Garbage and Michael Kiwanuka, while BMTH will be there Post Human EP double-header.

“Where you stand on the co-stars might be influenced by what you think of them outside the BMTH bubble,” our review reads.

Little Simz and Stormzy have landed some of the biggest nominations for the 2024 MOBO Awards.

The pair will compete for Album Of The Year courtesy of No Thank You and This Is What I Mean respectively, and are also in the Best Female and Male Act categories.

“We are proud to champion this year’s incredible lineup of nominees for the 26th MOBO Awards, who have all brought stellar music and content to our attention through their remarkable work in music, film, TV, online and more,” Kanya King.

Johnny Marr and The Charlatans will team up for a concert at Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre on Saturday, June 29th next year.

“Johnny Marr and The Charlatans are a brilliant combination to bring together on one night at Scarborough OAT,” venue programmer Julian Murray said.

“Both are undoubted indie music greats who have been behind some of the biggest and best loved anthems of the last 40 years. Roll on June 29th because this is going to be one incredible night to remember!”

Duran Duran, Kasabian, Keane and London Grammar have been unveiled as the headliners for Latitude Festival 2024, which is to be held at Henham Park in Suffolk between July 25th-28th.

“We are excited to be making Latitude our sole UK performance next summer,” John Taylor said.

“It’s a great festival, and it’s been a long time since Duran has been in that part of the country. In fact, it’s our first time ever in Suffolk. We are riding high on the reception our new Danse Macabre album has received and looking forward to bringing music from that record, all the way back to our 1981 debut album.”
