In a busy week of festival announcements, Kendal Calling and Parklife were among our biggest headlines.

Noel Gallagher, The Streets and Snow Patrol have been revealed as the main acts for Kendal Calling 2024.

This recurring cast of headliners for the next summer festival season are to be joined by the likes of Paul Heaton, Keane, Sugababes, Pale Waves, Kate Nash and Reytons.

“After the week we have had, bring on the summer,” the event’s co-founder Andy Smith has said.

Corinne Bailey Rae, Circa Waves, Sea Girls and Orla Gartland are some of the names added to this year’s Live At Leeds: In The Park event.

Headliners The Kooks, and others including Future Islands, Declan McKenna, Melanie C and White Lies have already been confirmed, and Bailey Rae is delighted to be joining them:

“I’m thrilled to be performing in my home town for Live at Leeds. I’m playing ‘Black Rainbows’, my new album, and the live show is a wild ride through punk, indie, soul and funk. I’m telling stories that I encountered while exploring The Stoney Island Arts Bank in Chicago.”

Liam Gallagher and John Squire have confirmed the details of their self-titled debut album.

The record will comprise ten new tracks including previous single Just Another Rainbow and last week’s follow-up Mars To Liverpool.

“It was really inspiring to have those Knebworth gigs fresh in my mind as I started writing,” Squire reflected.

Doja Cat, J Hus and, in a UK festival exclusive, Disclosure are leading the announcement for Parklife 2024.

Also confirmed for Heaton Park in Manchester later this year are the likes of Becky Hill, Four Tet, Camelphat, Anne-Marie and Sugababes, with tickets for the event going on general sale from January 26th.

It will take place between June 8th-9th.

You’ve spent many a night with it if you’re of a certain age: CSS, the band behind that noughties’ dancefloor classic Let’s Make Love And Listen to Death From Above, will return for their first North American tour in over a decade later this year.

Gigs have been arranged from east to west coast this May, and will conclude at the Just Like Heaven Festival in Pasadena, CA.

“Even though we weren’t active for 20 years straight, it’s bananas to come back in 2024 to celebrate these two decades,” Lovefoxxx said. “I DJ often, and I am approached by fans who tell me how much ‘we’ve helped them figure out themselves’, ‘showed a way out’ out of societal norms, and even ‘inspired them to be who they are’ – which melts my heart because most of these fans are delicate queer creative people.”

Air have added a deluxe version of Moon Safari to the 25th anniversary celebrations surrounding their classic debut album.

It’ll be released on March 8th, boasting rare and previously unreleased tracks, and Mike Mill’s 1998 documentary film Eating, Sleeping, Waiting & Playing as bonus features.

More gigs have also been added to the tour which will see Moon Safari performed in its entirety. With sold-out shows booked around Europe during February and March, there’s now a new leg in May, June and July.
