The video for Louis Culture’s 7AM collaboration with Bawo has been shared.

It was directed by the Ethan & Tom duo, who comment:

“We loved how honest/personal both the guys lyrics and the musicality of the track was, and wanted to play with the format of a dialogue scene to make you concentrate more on what Louis and Bawo were saying to one another, as you would if you were watching a film.”

deep tan’s new single is entitled ‘rudy ya ya ya’.

It’s the latest from the band’s recent ‘diamond horsetail’ EP, and is out with UK tour dates supporting Courting and Nation Of Language coming up during the autumn and early winter.

“’rudy ya ya ya’ allowed me to fully realize my island of Dr. Mareau by way of the Blair Witch fantasy and was a perfect opportunity to flex my digital bolex’s muscles with manic handheld movements and gritty psychedelic textures,” Stringer, director of the track’s video, says.

Okkervil River‘s Will Sheff has premiered the official video for Nothing Special, the title-track from his debut solo album which was unveiled at the start of this month.

“When I was just a kid, I got caught up in the dream of being a rock and roll star,” he’s said.

“Like so many other young people, I fell in love with the idea of being called to this glorious path outside of ordinary life. And I ended up in a band with people who felt this same call – especially our brilliant drummer Travis Nelsen, who was like a brother to me.”

Nicolas Bougaïeff will release his new album Begin Within on November 11th.

The most obvious change when compared with predecessor The Upward Spiral – part of Live4ever’s Best Of… retrospective in 2020 – is the use of the voice as instrument, Bougaïeff observing that it’s the, ‘sound of me grappling with transformation’.

“There’s a few major themes with this album and honesty is one of them,” he continues. “I went through years of physical and emotional masochism as a kind of immersive shock therapy to jolt me into understanding something.”

Prima Queen have unveiled their latest track Eclipse.

“It’s about the hesitation of entering into a new relationship while you’re still reeling from a heartbreak that fucked you up,” they said.

“It was quite a cathartic group experience recording the song – we got to sing the last chorus all together at the top of our lungs. We released a lot of pent up rage we didn’t know we had.”

Julia Jacklin shared Be Careful With Yourself from Pre Pleasure ahead of the album’s release on Friday, August 26th.

“A lot of the time I feel like I need to do all the work before I can enjoy my life,” Jacklin previously said.

“Whether that’s work on songs or sex, friendships, or my relationship with my family – I think if I work on them long and hard enough, eventually I’ll get to sit around and really enjoy them. But that’s not how anything works is it. It’s all an ongoing process.”

Tim Burgess has shared Sure Enough, one of the twenty-two tracks which will feature on his new double-LP Typical Music.

It’s out with a video directed by Callum Scott-Dyson, who says:

“As soon as I heard the track, I thought it’d be perfect for my stop motion style as the song had a really naturalistic, sort of old school sound, and my style is a little more retro than most animated stuff, so I was excited to dig in!”

Alice Boman has shared Feels Like A Dream from her forthcoming new album The Space Between, due October 21st, featuring guest vocals from Perfume Genius.

“In the past I’ve written a lot of songs about disappointments, heartbreaks and the longing for love,” Boman observes.

“Being in love – I thought it would be so hard to write songs about that. Not wanting to sound too cheesy. But love can be cheesy. And this song is about how it sometimes feels like a dream to be with that someone. Especially when you’ve been wondering if you’d ever find love.”
