It’s Damon Albarn’s successor to 2014’s solo debut Everyday Robots.

Damon Albarn is leading the UK Record Store Chart with his new solo album The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows.

Idles are next up with their essential fourth studio record Crawler, while more stand-out new releases from Courtney Barnett and W. H. Lung are also close behind.

It’s nine years since The Official Charts Company launched this chart as vinyl sales surged during the last decade, a trend which continued in 2020 as the format grew for the 13th consecutive year. It is compiled from the best selling albums at 100 of Britain’s leading independent music shops.
