Paul McCartney released his most recent solo effort back in December.
Paul McCartney spoke of how lockdown spare time gave him the freedom to work on a third instalment of his McCartney solo series, and with restrictions still very much in place, he’s not been able to resist going back for a bit of tinkering.
Blood Orange, Damon Albarn, Josh Homme, St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Beck and Khruangbin are just some of the artists who’ve unsurprisingly accepted the invitation from the Beatle to record new versions of tracks from McCartney III, these being previewed first with Dominic Fike’s recording of The Kiss Of Venus.
The rest will be available when McCartney III Imagined comes out on April 16th.
Also coming up from McCartney this year is a memoir of sorts based upon his long career in music, The Lyrics compiled by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Paul Muldoon.
