Morrissey‘s new solo album I Am Not A Dog On A Chain has been confirmed for release in March.




First reported by fansite Morrissey Central last November, the album has now been set for March 20th after recording sessions in France and Los Angeles with producer Joe Chicarelli. “I have now produced four studio albums for Morrissey,” Chicarelli says.

Rush’s Neil Peart, widely regarded as one of the great rock drummers, has died at the age of 67.

According to a family statement, Peart passed away on January 7th in California after a three-year battle with brain cancer.

The Flaming Lips have teamed up with Deap Vally for their latest collaborative album and have released a new single entitled Home Thru Hell.

The Deap Lips album is set to follow on March 13th after the two bands first met thanks to a chance meeting whilst Deap Vally were touring with Wolfmother. “I can’t remember exactly when I became aware of Deap Vally, but let’s say it was sometime just before I saw them play,” Wayne Coyne says.

“Xtina, Gaga, Carrie, and of course Shania, this was one loaded with nods to badass idols of mine.” Halsey is paying tribute to her heroes on the video for You Should Be Sad, directed by Colin Tilley.

It arrives with her third studio album Manic out next Friday, January 17th, and its world tour due to kick off next month in Europe.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are focusing their time on writing new material after the return of guitarist John Frusciante, the band’s drummer Chad Smith has revealed.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Smith said they’ll be ‘mostly concentrating on new songs and writing a new record’ with Frusciante now in his third Chili Peppers spell after replacing his own replacement, Josh Klinghoffer, late last year. “We’re all real excited to make new music,” Smith added.

Tool, Tame Impala and Lizzo have been revealed as the headliners for this year’s Bonnaroo Festival which will run between June 11th-14th in Manchester, TN.

More big names on the bill include Lana Del Rey, Miley Cyrus, Run The Jewels and Vampire Weekend, while The 1975 are due up on the Friday as part of their touring behind Notes On A Conditional Form, which is due for release on February 21st.
