Art Brut have premiered the video for their comeback single Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out!.
Frontman Eddie Argos is as enthusiastic as ever, and says the promo has solved the riddle of ‘what Art Brut’s spirit animal would be’. “It is all of them,” he says.
“All of the animals. Art Brut’s spirit animal is every animal on the planet all freaking out at once. We are untameable wildlife. Hooray!”
Directors Ben Pollard and Jonny Drewek have helped Argos reach this conclusion; “It’s equal parts exciting and daunting imagining into life video concepts for a band like Art Brut,” they explain. “The universe they’ve created for their music over the last decade is so varied and eclectic; it didn’t feel right to just shoehorn new characters, ideas and imagery into their world for the video.”
Earlier this month, Art Brut were revealed to have signed up with Alcopop! Records after label boss Jack Clothier picked them out as one of his dream signings when he began running Alcopop!.
