The Charlatans are planning a special benefit concert in memory of their late drummer Jon Brookes with all proceeds going towards the Brain Tumour Charity.
Brookes very sadly succumbed to the disease last month at the age of just 44 after first falling ill during a Charlatans gig in Philadelphia back in 2010.
A Night For Jon Brookes with The Charlatans and Friends has now been organised and will take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Friday, October 18th.
“Following the loss of our much missed friend and drummer, Jon Brookes, we, together with some friends, are putting on a show at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 18th October 2013,” a band statement reads.
“The show will benefit THE BRAIN TUMOUR CHARITY, which Jon was involved with during his illness. It’s our way of raising money for research into and awareness of a cancer that will unfortunately affect many lives as it has ours. We look forward to seeing you at the RAH and making it a night to remember.”
Tickets go onsale tomorrow (September 20th). The full line-up is to be confirmed in due course.
