Live4ever’s New Tunes Guide feat. Pylo, Lizzie & The Yes Men and more


The highlights of Live4ever’s New Tunes Guide are provided this week by Pylo and Lizzie & The Yes Men.

Pylo, formed in the spring of 2012 by ‘five young friends from Bath’, released their debut EP ‘Bellavue’ on August 4th, which has been led by the impressively spacious vibe of ‘View’. The band have several UK festival commitments still to fulfill before the end of October, which continue at Yorkshire’s Galtres event on August 24th.




‘Tarantino surf-pop’ is how London band Lizzie and The Yes Men describe their sound as they ready new single ‘Unstoppable’ for release on August 19th through the New York label 100M Records. The band self-produced the track’s video which was shot ‘from dusk till dawn’ at Ropemaker’s Field in Limehouse, London, and are about to start work on their debut album with a view to a 2014 release.

Able Archer are Emmet (lead vocals), Neil (keys), Rob  (guitar), Diarm (bass player) and Seán (percussion). The debut EP ‘Bullets’ was recorded at Westland studios in Dublin and mastered at Streaky Mastering and is available on iTunes now.”

Alecs is a young songwriter/producer from deepest West London. His early background is steeped in the guitar driven rock/pop music of the 60’s & 70’s, drawing on influences from artists such as Badfinger, Terry Reid and melody driven 90’s bands like Jellyfish. Alecs has been working with other emerging producers/writers such as Eddy Atlantis (producer for Xander The Great.”

Clear‘s new single, ‘Sunlight’, was made single of the week on Gary Crowley’s Amazing Radio Show. He has also played it on the BBC London Introducing show. The song was produced by Richard Hawley’s producer, Colin Eliot. On drums is Andy Cook who has worked with Finley Quaye and the Longpigs. Clear is a small (3) nucleus of songwriters, Chris, Lloyd and Jools who all write and all sing.”

The Child of A Creek is Lorenzo Bracaloni – an Italian folk singer songwriter whose new record entitled ‘The Earth Cries Blood’ is out now via Seahorse Recorsings (IT) and distro labels are Seahorse Recordings (IT), Audioglobe (IT), Eclipse Records (US), IODA-ITunes (US), Norman Records (UK), Cold Spring Records (UK).”

Pylo’s debut single ‘Enemies’ and its homemade video has amassed over 100,000 views since its posting less than two months ago, resulting in early support from Rob da Bank on BBC R1, an XFM Record of the Week and numerous supporters across BBC 6music and BBC Radio 2.”

Babeshadow have announced their return with the release of a brand new track ‘Lonely Morning’ on July 29th. Having started out as two childhood friends who honed their craft busking across the streets of Europe, the duo of Tom Cawte and David Thornley took their band name from a T-Rex track ahead of a chance support slot with Pete Doherty. Following the release of their debut EP ‘Sea Serpents’ on LuvLuvLuv Records, Babeshadow found themselves performing at Glastonbury, supporting Mystery Jets, The Drums and Florence + The Machine, performing BBC radio sessions for Rob Da Bank and Steve Lamacq, and headlining their own UK and Italian tours. The duo have since spent the last year in their homemade recording studio in East London, writing and recording for their full length debut, whilst also fitting in a string of live dates and a support tour with Crystal Fighters.”

“‘Play It Out’ is the new single from Dirty Ma’s (DMA) out of Sydney, Australia. Working and writing around Sydney, Johnny Took, Matt Mason and Tommy O’Dell have a sound reminiscent of The Verve and Stone Roses.”

Victory Kicks are a new alternative rock band based in South London. Formed in early 2013 and lead by singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John Sibley the band releases on the new artist-run independent record label Unmanned Aerial Vinyl. They have produced a standalone single and 3 home recorded EPs, the most recent of which is titled ‘Rockets for Ghosts’.”
