The benefit single released to raise money for the legals costs being incurred by the families of the victims of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster is the 2012 Christmas Number One after it held off the challenge from this year’s X Factor winner James Arthur.
The single has seen musicians including Paul McCartney, Shane MacGowan and Robbie Williams come together as the Justice Collective to record the cover, and has opened up a comfortable lead over its nearest rival during the course of the past week.
Over on the UK Album Chart, Emeli Sande holds the top spot with her big selling LP ‘Our Version Of Events‘.
