Escapologists are: Neil Wells (bass and vocals), Pete Fletcher (guitar, production) and Nick Jonah Davis (guitar, keyboards). Escapologists are a Nottingham/Berlin based trio making dreamy indie-electronica that seems to exist within its own self-contained world. A world filled a sense of yearning and nostalgia.”

“London based punk/dance quartet Dive Bella Dive have just released a music video for their single “Animal.” Influenced by the likes of The Cure and The Clash, the anthemic new single follows the bands debut release ‘Spend the Night Living’. ‘Animal’ is available now on iTunes and will be featured on a digital EP due out at the end of July on Life & Death Records. A full length album is planned for 2013 on Island Records.”

“‘Infinity Overhead’ is new album from Minus The Bear, released on September 3rd through Big Scary Monsters. The veteran Seattle-based fivesome reunited with former member and longtime producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Isis, Cursive) to create a guitar-laden 10-track record that is heavy both on technicality and pop songcraft.”

“Formed in 2010, Glasgow band UKREIGN have received critical acclaim for their live performances and professional approach. UKREIGN have played world famous King Tuts Wah Wah Hut an unprecedented three times in 2011 as well as all of the major Scottish venues, culminating in a main support, 2500 sell out gig at Glasgow’s O2 Academy in December.”

Night Works has already cast a moody spell with his teaser track ‘I Tried So Hard’ earlier this year – an alluring, melancholy spectre of a song, one that dissipates just as you’re getting to grips with its strange, otherworldly beauty. It also came accompanied with an equally mysterious video, one which concealed as much as it revealed anything about Night Works.”

“On September 3rd Tokyo sensation taffy continue to take the UK by storm, with the release of ‘Flower Chain’, on Club AC30. Plus, due to huge demand the band have announced a national headline tour. Following widespread print and online praise for the debut album ‘Caramel Sunset’, the amphetamine-esque, angular indie-disco-pogo of ‘Flower Chain’ looks set to propel taffy evermore skywards.”

“Not to be confused with the 1968 coffee house folk song by Tom Parrott (recorded for Smithsonian Folkways), this chug n’ shred burner from Chelsea Light Moving is a psycho reflection of late 60s NYC East Village hippie idealism slayed and splayed in an Avenue B tenement boiler room. Groovy was the boy born James Leroy Hutchinson from modest American means and Linda was Linda Fitzpatrick, she from a privileged nuclear household, both runaways to the lysergic pulchritude of peace, love and marijuana.”

“Recorded at PJ Harvey’s studio in Bristol, ‘Businessman’s Guide To Witchcraft’ is the potent new single from Somerset outfit Waves Of Fury. Combining Uptight Motown horns, a lithe bassline, fat crashing drums, some bawling Memphis geetar with a scowling, snarling vocal, it’s a sound that draws inspiration from Elmore James, Stax, electric Muddy Waters and Otis Redding whilst sitting comfortably alongside the likes of The Strange Boys, Ty Segall, The Heavy, Thee Oh Sees and Black Lips. A damn fine piece of contemporary rock & soul with a burning flame of Spiritualized and The Mary Chain at its core.”

“Lead singer Nick Ryder has been exposed to many sides of life. From a youngster he was inspired by politically active relative who marched in C.N.D rallies in ’80’s. Another relative was a freedom fighter during Cyprus troubles. Inspired by bands such as The Doors / Kaiser Chiefs / Madness / Joy Division New Order / Interpol/ Editors Nick has set to carve a name for himself with his band London Commands You.”

“Having supported Paul Weller at his personal request on his 5 night residency at London’s Roundhouse earlier in the year, Cow return with a new album “Dedicated To… The Mighty Drum”. The album, which is available now, was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn studios, and features the man himself on several tracks, including new single “Black Harvest”. Cow were formed in late 2006 by Mark Boxall & Maxine Cook. The album see’s them going back to the acoustic roots of their debur album with 10 new self-penned songs, drawing influences from pop, soul and psych.”

“Newport’s The Boy Royals reveal a brand new video for their forthcoming single, People Like Us. Set for release on August 13th through Require Records, The Boy Royals have already gained support from numerous BBC Radio 1 and 6 music DJ’s, with their previous single ‘Teenage Sky’. Steve Lamacq chose them as his ‘New Favourite Band’ whilst Huw Stephens selected their single to be his ‘Next Hype’.”
