The prizes were split tonight (February 29th) at the 2012 NME Awards, with all four of the major gongs going to different acts.
Kasabian beat the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Muse to win Best British Band, while The Horrors took home the Best Album prize for their excellent 2011 record ‘Skying‘.
Elsewhere, Arctic Monkeys picked up Best Live Band and the Foo Fighters were named Best International Band. Florence & The Machine did buck the trend by pipping Noel Gallagher and Adele to triumph in the Best Solo Act category, while also winning the Best Track for ‘Shake It Out‘.
Two of the Nineties’ biggest acts were honoured on the night, with Pulp being handed the Outstanding Contribution award by celebrated designer Peter Blake, while Noel Gallagher performed a crowd pleasing set of favourites new and old after collecting the Godlike Genius gong.
