Former White Stripes mainman Jack White has hinted his future may lie as a solo artist following the duo’s decision to call it a day earlier this month.
Although White has already worked on numerous side projects since achieving his initial breakthrough with the White Stripes back in 2001, he told Q magazine there are unlikely to be any new bands for the talented guitarist and songwriter.
“I won’t join another band again,” he said. “Three’s enough for one lifetime. If I can’t say it in any of these bands, then I’ll say it by myself.”
Jack White first branched out from the White Stripes in 2005 when he formed The Raconteurs with Brendan Benson, who have to date released two studio albums, ‘Broken Boy Soldiers‘ (2006), and ‘Consolers Of The Lonely‘ (2008). He has also released two records with The Dead Weather, a band White described last year as his ‘most inspiring yet’.
On announcing their decision to split, Jack and Meg White inisisted the move was not due to personal differences, and blamed a ‘a myriad of reasons’ for ending their near-12 year career.
