Stevie Wonder brought the 40th anniversary of the Glastonbury festival to a close last night with an acclaimed performance which included a short duet with the festival’s organiser Michael Eavis on the track ‘Happy Birthday‘.
As thousands of festival-goers settle in for the start of Glastonbury’s 40th anniversary tomorrow, a clutch of this year’s performers have been speaking of their plans, with special guests promised for two of the acts.
Damon Albarn has revealed Blur’s reunion gigs last summer helped to heal old wounds following Graham Coxon’s departure from the band in 2003.
Speaking to the Radio Times, Albarn said the shows “healed a very deep wound for all four of us”, but also insisted they have no immediate plans for Blur at this point, stating “that’s that for the moment.”
