Portishead are looking to begin work on a new album soon, as Adrian Utley told the Quietus during a Q&A session at the By:Larm Festival in Oslo earlier this week.

“We’re clearing our schedules so we can get on with it, otherwise it will be another ten years,” he said, adding that he and the equally busy Geoff Barrow are, ‘Both really enthusiastic, and enthusiasm counts for a lot in Portishead world’.

Portishead have been promising a fourth studio album for some time after bringing to an end an eleven-year break with ‘Third‘ in 2008′; during a previous interview with The Quietus back in 2012, Barrow remarked:

“We’ve been getting together recently and talking about lots of stuff. There’s definitely going to be another record, we’re just going to get on it as soon as my studio gets working.”

Portishead are heading to Iceland in the summer to headline the second ATP festival in the country along side Interpol.
