The Scholars are a 3 piece Electro/Rock Band from Oxfordshire, often compared to the darker spectrum of early 80’s British Rock bands. Since forming in 2008 the band have played alongside bands such as Two Door Cinema Club, The Boxer Rebellion, The Big Pink and Chapel Club as well as playing the BBC Introducing Stages at both Truck and Wychwood Festival. They released their debut single ‘Turbulence’ in 2009 and have since had extensive plays on Kerrang! NME and BBC 6 Music along with other singles and interviews with Tom Robinson and other local BBC Introducing DJs. In 2010, The Scholars were involved in the independent feature film ‘Turbulence’, a musical comedy centred around a venue in Birmingham. The Scholars were fortunate enough to play a major role in the film as well as contributing heavily towards the soundtrack. The film is currently available on DVD in the UK after its release in the winter of 2011. They also released their debut EP ‘Arrival/Departure’ earlier that year. 2012 saw the release of two more singles, ‘This Heart’s Built To Break’ and ‘Wired’, and were also included as part of HMV’s Next Big Thing.”

“Following their ‘New Moore Island’ EP, 7-piece band The Mariner’s Children return with this new work, ‘Sycamore EP’. Hinging on the themes of love and death, it explores the relationships between these experiences and how both can distort logic. ‘Sycamore’ is released on Broken Sound Music, home also to Rachael Dadd, Sons of Noel and Adrian, Forest Fire, Eyes & No Eyes. The EP was produced and recorded by Ian Grimble (The Manic Street Preachers, Beth Orton, Communion, etc) at two different studios – Rockfield (a converted stable), and 2khz (a converted church).”

“Tearing up big stages all over the UK, Fight The Dice have appeared at the O2 Academy 2 and the NEC Birmingham, The Slade Rooms Wolverhampton, Bedford Corn Exchange, The Ironworks Oswestry, Bristol O2 Academy main stage and have shows lined up at the O2 Academy Islington, the Cavern Liverpool and many many others.”

Young Jack hail from Hull a town buzzing with upcoming bands. Recently signed to Diffusion Records the band will embark on a UK our in Feb to support their debut single ‘Lucio’. The song is a hive of ideas proving the band have a lot to offer and definitely more to come.”

Beard Of Wolves aren’t ones to hang around. Since forming in September last year, the two-piece from North Wales have picked up airplay from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, XFM and Kerrang! Radio, released a 7” single through the Too Pure singles club, landed a 5 out of 5 single review from the Guardian, appeared at SWN festival, and supported upcoming bands DZ Deathrays, Milk Maid, Exit International and Castrolova. Not bad work in a few months, and the two-piece from North Wales aren’t about to slow down anytime soon either, with their self-titled debut EP set for release on 4th March 2013 and a string of live dates across the UK.”

Talk Of Spring is a three piece pop band formed in Louisville, KY around 2009. They quickly began playing shows and building a fan base, sharing the stage with acts such as All Time Low, Mayday Parade, The Audition, etc. Recorded five songs with producer Marc Mcclusky (Weezer, Ludo, Hit The Lights) in Chicago, IL.” Check out a fan video of ‘Don’t Stop’ and head over to Bandcamp for the EP.

Bored Nothing is certainly a strange phenomenon, mainly as it doesn’t have a hub and it only recently became a band. Back track a few years and teenager Fergus Miller had no fixed address, and no plans for musical success. He just recorded homemade tapes and demos while on the road and gave them to people he met along the way. His idea from the start was to write songs with electric guitars while trying to maintain a sort-of Daniel Johnston-esque approach to making and sharing music. It didn’t matter whether anyone liked it or not – the music was simply a talking point.”
