“Following in the footsteps of schoolmates Bombay Bicycle Club, Cajun Dance Party and Theme Park, indie-pop five piece Casablanca are set to release their debut single ‘Yes’ on new London imprint Party Politics. ‘Yes’ will be available on a limited run of 200 7” vinyl and available digitally worldwide from 17th September. Having made waves under their old moniker of Lo-Fi Culture Scene at the tender ages of 15 and 16, the quartet of Jacob Wheldon (vocals/guitar), Callum Akass (bass), Tom Herzberg (guitar) and Tom MacColl (drums) found themselves quickly boasting an enviable CV. Performing alongside the likes of Foals, Bloc Party and The Maccabees and releasing a few singles, the band took time away from their budding musical career to focus on wrapping up their education. Returning now afresh and with a new name, Casablanca are set to make waves once again with their enlivened take on guitar pop.”

“Following the release of “You Say You Love Me” as a super-limited split 7” in late 2011, Trash Aesthetics (Bloc Party, Treecreeper and Richmond Fontaine) are proud to present the “Black Domino Box” EP – the latest chapter in H. Hawkline’s impeccable recorded output.”

“Acid Jazz celebrates its 25th year as a genre-defining label by looking to the future with their newest signings, hotly tipped Manchester outfit the Janice Graham Band. Averaging 21 years of age, JGB are Joe Jones (vocals/bass), Andy Morton (guitar), Josh Hunt (Trumpet & BV’s) and Tom Scott (Drums/BV’s). Following the fantastic response to their mini album ‘It’s Not Me‘ (released Feb 2012), Janice Graham Band release a brand new single ‘Assassiner’ through Acid Jazz Records on September 10th. Live, JGB really emphasise their rhythmic quality – songs stomp, guitars chop and horns ring out, drums crash & intensity prevails. There’s hip-hop, reggae, indie, dub, garage rock, soul & funk in their eclectic bag of goodies. Having built up fervent support playing shows in their native Manchester, these four young kids who grew up together on Europe’s largest council estate – Wythenshawe – are making great strides forward and have just finished recording their first full length album which is set for release in early 2013.”

“Produced by Ash Workman and James Ford, Fiction‘s eagerly anticipated debut album will follow critically acclaimed singles ‘Curiosity’, ‘Big Things’ and ‘Parakeets’ last year. A spot on the Kitsune 11 compilation, airplay from Radio 1, 6 Music and XFM, plus some ambitious live collaborations with South London art collective ‘Off Modern’, have made Fiction one of the UK’s most talked about new bands.”

“When John-Mark Lapham realised DM Stith’s voice was exactly what was needed to finish a piece of music he’d been working on, neither knew the collaboration would work so well that they’d go on to strike up a partnership, name it The Revival Hour after a groundbreaking American evangelist radio show of the 1930s, and dedicate most of the next two years to investing their music with all the rousing emotion that such a name warranted. The duo’s debut EP ‘Clusterchord’ introduces an extraordinary fusion of panoramic and timeless sound with a thoroughly modernist and intimate feel: 60’s R&B, soul, doo-wop and pop, fused together by a panoply of electronics and Stith’s heavenly singing and vivid lyrical narratives: “pulp horror, comic drama, a dark cosmic pageant of chase sequences, monsters, spirits and explosions of blood,” according to Stith.”

I Am Giant have announced their new single ‘Purple Heart’ will be released on September 10th2012. Currently winning support on BBC Radio One as Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’ as well as on XFM, Kerrang! Radio and Q Radio, ‘Purple Heart’ is the first single taken from the band’s forthcoming album ‘The Horrifying Truth’, released this October. In what is proving to be a mammoth month for the London based 4-piece, I Am Giant have also been announced as support to rock legend Slash on his upcoming Australian tour, before returning to the UK for a full headline tour, including a single release show for ‘Purple Heart’ at The Garage in London on September 13th.”

“Your Headland is The Traps‘ opening salvo to the world with its swooning harmonies, seductive melodies and laid back California surf grooves. Evocative of a David Lynch esq soundscape with its ‘other worldliness’ and cinematic feel the track fulfils that rather perfect, blissful, hazy summer day. Based on the capture story of Homer’s Odyssey by Calypso and a longing for the reassurance of familiarity the track demonstrates the band’s love for hooks, rhythm and compelling lyrical narrative. Recorded with producer Rob Jones (aka The Voluntary Butler Scheme) during their last recording session for their debut album ‘Calypso’ earlier this year. It showcases the best example of band and producer collaboration on the record which will be released later this year.”

MMX are a four piece alternative band from Oxford, UK. After launching their first release ‘Cold World’ in June 2012 via their website, the band have been away for a couple of weeks writing music for an EP they will release later this year. MMX recorded their second release ‘Follow’ between two studios in Devon and Berkshire with Peter Miles and Sam Winfield. With an aim to introduce the band whilst providing a captivating visual to accompany ‘Follow’, the music video is tightly framed and shot at half speed against a simple backdrop in order to focus entirely on the identity of the band and their natural movements during the songs four minute duration.”

“East London punk heroes, Throwing Up are set to release a new single on the 20th August 2012. ‘Snake’, the follow up to the recent ‘Big Love’ single, is available to download and is the first new track to be lifted from the band’s forthcoming debut ‘Over You’ which is set for release at the end of September. ‘Over You’ features eleven tracks and also includes the band’s highly sought after early singles, the debut ‘Toothache’, the aforementioned ‘Big Love’ and ‘Mother Knows Best’ which was released on What’s Your Rupture?”
