“The 4-piece from Essex were hand-picked by The Prodigy to play Milton Keynes Bowl, as well as playing Sonisphere and touring with Does It Offend You Yeah? last year. Hounds have now been confirmed to play Download festival this year and release their blistering new EP ‘The Wicked’ on June 4th.”

“With their much-anticipated debut album due to land this summer, Stealing Sheep have just announced news of the release of Shut Eye, the first single to be released from the album. A genre-defying mix of analogue electronica, voodoo folk and psychedelic pop, this infectious and rhythmic number is due for release 28th May.”

The Glass Child, who reached #2 on the Itunes-chart with her charity-single ‘I Will Lead You Home’, in profit for the swedish cancer-organization Ung Cancer to support young victims of the disease, is now releasing the single ‘I’ll Never Tell’.”

“Recently recorded and mixed with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker in Perth and at her grandparents’ beach house in Cavalière in France, “Crystallized” is the debut material from Paris-based Melody’s Echo Chamber, a kaleidoscopic fusion of psych rock and warm hypnotic pop, fusing her influences of Pram and Spiritualized; Olivier Messiaen and Robert Wyatt.”

Young Hines was discovered by Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs) who also produced the album. He will be supporting Benson on tour in the UK & Europe in May.”

“‘The Great Enlightenment’ is the new single from Israeli singer-songwriter Geva Alon, released on June 18th. Taken from his forthcoming album ‘In The Morning Light’, produced by Thom Monahan (Devendra Banhart, Vetiver, Silver Jews), ‘The Great Enlightenment’ is a dreamy, Americana influenced track from the guitar maestro. Echoing the vocal styles of Neil Young and the virtuosity of Nick Drake, whilst taking influence from American indie artists including Band of Horses and Fleet Foxes.”

“In Giant Giant Sand you will recognize the members all hailing from Denmark who have been a part of Giant Sand for the last 10 years (Thøger T. Lund, Peter Dombernowski, Anders Pederesen and Nikolaj Heyman) plus now including a string section, as well as the stunning pedal steel player Maggie Bjorklund.”

The Chapman Family‘s latest music video entitled “No More Tears” was filmed by Yorkshire based filmmaker Nick Thompson in the decaying yet stunning cavernous Hulme Hippodrome in Manchester in April this year. The video was inspired by Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, The Shining, Johnny Cash, Elvis, the string quartet on the Titanic, the finale of Rocky Horror and Blade Runner to create the most possessed lounge band possible.”

“After an incredibly busy 2011 in which London’s Novella released their first single on Dirty Bingo Records, toured with the Dum Dum Girls and were part of a split record with Gross Magic, Echo Lake and The History of Apple Pie, 2012 is already proving to be another big year.”

“British rock trio Wideboy Generation release their debut album “No Time To Be Shy” on July 16th, 2012. The album was produced and engineered by the legendary John Cornfield (Muse, Oasis, Stone Roses, Cast) in his south Cornwall studio. Wideboy Generation are Joe (lead guitar/vocals), Aidan (bass/vocals) and Jamie (drums). The boys – all 20 years old – are from Hertfordshire/Essex, and formed the band just over a year ago. Kicking off with dates-for-mates in local pubs, Wideboy have progressed swiftly to selling out key venues such as the Barfly in Camden.”

“Bristol four-piece Call The Doctor have released a slew of hi-octane singles and EPs, gaining accolades from outlets as diverse as DIY blogs to MTV, The NME and BBC 6 Radio. ‘Hands Will Shake’ captures the bands’ ferocious live shows that have lit up European festival audiences, including appearances with Peaches! and support slots with Japanese punk-pop legends Shonen Knife. Led by the infectious energy and unique voice of New Zealand born front-woman Patti Aberhart (who has been compared to Blondie, Florence Welch and Siouxsie Sioux in equal measure), ‘Hands Will Shake’ captures the band’s love of DIY punk, Riot Grrl and their ability to get you dancing in a true indie disco style… if you think of indie as the new club music.”

The Wind-Up Birds are from Leeds. The Wind-Up Birds are not from Leeds (as in, United, Harvey Nics and Moyles). The Wind-Up Birds are from Leeds (as in, David Peace, Alan Bennett, The Wedding Present and Gang of Four). They are named after a book by Haruki Murakami. They write songs about car parks, and songs about pubs, and songs about work, and songs about escape.”
