New Cast Album Completed, Confirms John Power

johnpowerCast mainman John Power has revealed the band’s comeback album is now finished, and is due to be mixed within the next few days.

Power broke the news on Cast’s official Twitter feed, writing: “So it’s all recorded, 12 tracks, from the first take of the first song to the last breath blown down the microphone on the last track. Should begin mixing in the next few days, then mastered and then ready for release.”

The new record will be the Liverpool group’s first release since 2001, when their fourth LP ‘Beetroot‘ struggled to make an impact on the UK charts.

Prior to ‘Beetroot’, Cast had forged a position as one of the leading lights of the mid-90s Britpop movement, with their debut album ‘All Change‘ being one of the stand-out releases of the period.

In addition to Cast, Power’s first band, The La’s, also seem set for a larger scale return shortly, after they confirmed plans for a ‘full band’ outing in the near future.
