Kings Of Leon To Headline 2011 Isle Of Wight Festival

kings-of-leonKings Of Leon have added another huge headlining show to their ambitious 2011 itinerary, and will now top the bill at next year’s Isle Of Wight festival.

The announcement follows a series of huge UK outdoor dates which have been confirmed for next year, including a performance which will mark the 30th anniversary of the first gig at Ireland’s Slane Castle.

Kings Of Leon’s appearance at the Isle Of Wight festival will also be a landmark show, as the festival celebrates it’s tenth year since being revived following a legendary run of events in the late Sixties/early Seventies.

Speaking of the booking, Isle Of Wight promoter John Giddings spoke of his pride at bringing Kings Of Leon to the festival. “We are proud to bring one of the world’s biggest rock bands to the island on our 10th anniversary. It is an incredible way to start the weekend, I can’t wait.”

The 2011 Isle of Wight festival will take place between June 10th-12th, and tickets are to go on sale this Friday (Nov 19th).

Kings Of Leon’s new album ‘Come Around Sundown‘ has remained in the UK top ten this week, and currently stands at #6 on the charts.
