Y Not festival organisers have unveiled Royal Blood and Richard Ashcroft as their first two headliners for 2020.

It’s the second UK festival headline in as many days to be confirmed for Royal Blood after they were added to Victorious in Portsmouth yesterday, and Bombay Bicycle Club, Rag N’ Bone Man, James, Pale Waves, The Futureheads, Ash, Annie Mac, Dream Wife and Larkins are some of those who’ll be joining them at Pikehall in Derbyshire, UK between July 24th-26th.

This latest announcement for Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher is another indicator that the follow-up to 2017’s How Did We Get So Dark? might not be far away. “Sometimes the best answer to the question about what’s key to your success is that you don’t know the answer,” our album review reads.

“Royal Blood, like their hometown soccer team Brighton, have just reached the Premier League in their respective field, and now you feel would be time to reveal a grander design. How Did We Get So Dark? offers plenty of evidence of the qualities that got them there and its integrity isn’t open to question. The reality however, is that it leaves them in 2017’s musical safe space, in stasis where the only worry is whether they’re going to be above or below The Courteeners on some European festival bill.”
