The Y Not festival will have a new home for 2018 after severe weather last year ignited a chain of events which eventually led to its final day being cancelled and a 50% refund offered to attendees.
In response to criticism about an alleged lack of preparation for the disruption heavy rain can bring to a festival, organisers have detailed a move a short distance away at Aston Hill Farm in Derbyshire which they say means ‘the drive and route to the festival will be exactly the same’ whilst allowing them to ‘address some of the challenges of the previous site location’.
Improvements in security, staffing and logistics are also promised, festival chief Simon Mawbey concluding in a statement that:
