Noel Gallagher has hinted he would be interested in returning to Oasis when the 20th anniversary of the band’s huge selling second studio album ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?‘ comes around in 2015.
When speaking to DJ Christian O’Connell on Absolute Radio‘s breakfast show this morning (August 17th), Gallagher admitted he now believes his decision to walk away from Oasis back in 2009 was made in haste, and that it interrupted his plans to mark the special anniversary in fitting fashion.
“Well I regret when I was sat in the car and I kind of made a snap decision, really, if I had my time again I’d have thought about it a bit more and gone back, done the gig, done the next, there was only two gigs left on the tour,” he remarked.
“It was a hasty decision I’ve got to say, and we could maybe have all gone off and done other things for a few years, in my own head the 2015, 20-year anniversary of ‘…Morning Glory’ is looming and we could have maybe come back, made a new album and played that album in its entirety and gone and been the greatest thing ever, but there you go.”
Oasis were able to mark a couple of landmark anniversaries before their split two years ago this month. In 2001, their formation was celebrated with a 10 Years Of Noise and Confusion tour, while their classic 1994 debut ‘Definitely Maybe‘ was given the deluxe treatment as it entered its tenth year in 2004.
