Will Butler And Sister Squares have shared their lead single ‘Long Grass’.
Former Arcade Fire member Will Butler has linked up with the Sister Squares for the release of their self-titled Will Butler And Sister Squares album on September 22nd.
Butler first performed with Miles Francis, Julie Shore, Jenny Shore and Sara Dobbs during a run of shows in August 2022, and later began recording sessions for this LP at Figure 8 Studios in Brooklyn. He takes up the story:
I met Jenny – my wife! – in college, the year before I joined Arcade Fire. When I needed a band to tour Policy I asked Jenny’s sister Julie to join because I trusted her musically. And I asked Sara, Jenny and Julie’s childhood friend, because I knew she was super talented.
“After Generations, I considered making a weird solo record. Me alone in the basement, etc., etc. Mostly I realised that what I wanted was the opposite.”
