Who Shot Scott by Connor Pritchard
Who Shot Scott’s video was directed by longtime collaborator Connor Pritchard.
Who Shot Scott is confronting prejudice faced during childhood on his new single French Fever.
“I was in my first year of high school and I decided to take French as my language subject out of love and respect for the culture,” he’s said.
“What I didn’t expect was the harassment I would face from my French teacher who took it upon herself to treat me differently than the other kids in the class. I was constantly yelled at and made an example out of.”
“I’ll never forget the day she ripped my workbook apart in front of the whole class just to make a spectacle of me. As a naive 14-year-old, it broke something inside me.”
“It was one of the first times in my life I realised that I was different and that my skin colour and my body hair meant I wasn’t treated with the same respect as my peers. I started hiding in the bathroom during French class to avoid her.”
Eventually my parents got involved and put an end to it. Years later I found out she did this to countless other Arab students. ‘FRENCH FEVER’ is me taking that wound and flipping it on its head – transforming it into art, something no one can take from me.
