Kevin Shields has already said there ‘one hundred percent’ will be a new album from My Bloody Valentine, and a new song was aired during their appearance at Meltdown Festival in June, and it now appears the band’s follow-up to m b v could result in two LPs.
Fans on Reddit have dug out comments made by Shields to Japanese press in which he states: “We’re trying to finish a short album of material… it was going to be an EP in the summer, but we decided not to and decided to make it longer.”
”So it will be seven tracks or eight tracks, hopefully will be finished in the end of November. We’ll also be recording new material next year. There will be a lot of new material coming in the next…in the next year, there will be about two new records.”
The frontman also confirmed My Bloody Valentine’s intention to tour the new material, adding that it’s ‘always a really good way to guarantee that we’ll get the record done’.
