Tributes are pouring in on social media for Keith Flint after the death of the Prodigy singer was confirmed today. He was 49.

Reports began circulating this morning (March 4th) that Essex Police had been called to a property in Brook Hill, North End due to ‘concerns for the welfare of a man’ who was subsequently ‘pronounced dead at the scene’.

The Prodigy have since confirmed the news, writing on Twitter: “It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”

On Instagram, Liam Howlett sent out a message on the band’s feed saying he is ‘shell-shocked, angry, confused and heartbroken’, while figures from the music world have begun leaving their own memories of Flint and his band’s influence.

Among those was Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers, who remembered Flint as ‘always great fun to be around and very kind to Tom and I when we first started doing shows together’, and DJ Jo Whiley who described him as an ‘iconic frontman with a soft centre’.
